Problem:

Before taking action on an incident, the SRE or SDE first needs to assess the blast radius of the incident and choose the right people to involve in its resolution.

Timescale:

It takes between minutes and hours to assess the SLO metrics and determine which ones are affected by the incident.

Solution:

Time Series Intelligence uses metadata from the SLO and the SLO metrics to automaticallly assess the blast radius of the incident. It can also suggest which SLO metrics are affected by the incident, so the SRE can quickly identify the right people to involve in the resolution.

Epicenter and Suspects

Identify Epicenter and Suspects

Problem:

From among the various metrics of the affected component and the related components, the SRE needs to visually or with queries identify the epicenter suspects that caused the incident.

Timescale:

It takes additional hours to determine which metrics were distressed compared to normal as the search gradually expands from the main to the dependent components.

Solution:

Time Series Intelligence pre-analyzes all the metrics and logs to filter and sort those in the dependency graph that show the earliest and most persistent anomalous behavior.
